I wonder
how many stars fill
the night sky?

Glistening as the light
illuminates the darkest of secrets,
kept only by the whistling wind.

I wonder
how the dawn feels?

Not returning since dusk
the dew draws along
the plains.

My Lord,
I see your mighty hand.

  1. I love your style in this piece! 🙂 It’s amazing how a single image can awaken things inside our spirits, isn’t it?

    Here’s mine… thank you!

    My Lord, My God
    How high the sky
    I feel so far
    But You’re so nigh

    You hung the moon
    You count the stars
    You catch our tears
    In tiny jars

    In worry, fear,
    I pray thee, Lord,
    My soul to keep

    As night drags on
    Though I feel torn
    I’ll praise with joy
    In early morn’

    1. Thank you! To God be the glory!

The phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words”, certainly comes to mind.

Thank you also for taking part in the #PoetryChallenge – much appreciated!

      “You hung the moon
      You count the stars
      You catch our tears
In tiny jars” —– This is wonderful! Great imagery!
